Hi,
I am planning to sit for GMAT this August and want to know target score for applying in tier 1 programs.
My profile is:
high school - 85%
senior sec - 76% (non-medical)
B.tech - 71% (Information technology)
experience:
6 years of experience in top product companies ranging from Japanese CE giant, Korean CE giant, Australian casino slot machine/game manufacturer biggie.
My role has been all functional(software).
Extra-curricular:
1. member of company cricket team.
2. Runs 3 blogs from last 5+ years and have earned some money too from them.
3. house captain during my senior secondary schooling.
4. finalized an advertising deal with a US company for running add on my blog.
I am looking for doing MBA in entrepreneur/strategy from top program, I saw college like Babson college(no 1 MBA entrepreneurship), but in your uni. rankings it is placed in tier 4... So I wanted to know does the rank of university matters in placements/future or only the rank of program is what matters?
Kindly guide me what score should I target for getting into tier 1 program with my profile.
thanks,
Himshr

I think you've read this post GMAT Tiers - strong schools for your GMAT www.find-mba.com/board/27082 since you refer to it: that is the tiering by GMAT score, not a ranking of business school quality.
If you read the FT rankings you'll see that placement, in terms of career seniority, salary and % employed do differ and they do generally correlate with the tiers and, more strongly, location within each tier.
Average scores in tier 1 programmes will be 700 to 720. Exceed that.
