legal authority to issue degrees

pkny

Hi,

I am currently looking for a MBA / Master in fashion management (especially interested in doing the Master programme at Barcelona Business School or MBA/Masters at IFA Pais in cooperation with Polimoda) . How do I know it a certain university / business school / academy has the right to issue degrees? I do not want to pay a lot of money for a useless degree or can someone tell me more about UIBS or IFA Paris?

Thank you!

UIBS is quite notorious. It does not have the legal right to issue degrees. IFA Paris is a real, legal school, though not in the top tier. Your safest bet will be to ask the admissions team at the university where you studied for your undergraduate degree.

Thank you for you answer!

I see. Would you suggest a certain university for doing a MBA/Master-programme in Fashion Business or Luxury Brand Management)? (preferable without GMAT as I do not have time to take a preparation class due to work and my current master programme)

Thank you!

I can't imagine that an MBA program which does not require the GMAT would be worth your investment. If you are focusing fashion/luxury programs in Europe, you are in luck because there are a ton of them. You should start by researching the following programs:

HEC Paris
ESSEC
Alma Graduate School
Skema
INSEAD
IU Monaco (not an MBA but an MSc in Luxury and Fashion Management)

Hello,

I am a current student at ESSEC's MBA in International Luxury Brand Management. ESSEC is an accredited university and provides students with courses, internships, conferences, alumni relations, and one-on-one time with industry experts regarding fashion brand management. As well, ESSEC offers courses in all areas of luxury - automotive, fashion and accessories, cosmetics and fragrance, wines and spirits, and watches and jewelry.

You can find more information about the program here: http://www.essec.edu/programs/mba-programs/mba-in-international-luxury-brand-management.html, and I would be happy to answer any additional questions.

Thanks!
