Dear All,
Need your 2 cents - I've been selected to St. Gallen. With 720 GMAT and 9 yrs of exp, I intend to move to IT Consulting. What will your opinions be on joining the program? Will it be helpful if I learn German?

Hi! Congratulations on getting into St. Gallen. It's one of the most respected programs in Europe, so I'd say go for it. Not sure they have strength in IT consulting, per se, but they should equip you with the skills and network you need to set you off on the right foot, particularly if you want to move to/stay in Europe.
Yes, learning German will help you. Perhaps not for the MBA itself, but for getting by and getting a job afterward in German-speaking Europe (Germany, Austria, and the northern parts of Switzerland). In fact, I think St. Gallen might even require students to take German classes during the course.

Congratulations! Besides Mannheim, St. Gallen is the best place in the German speaking world for a fulltime MBA program. I would definitely encourage you to learn German. At least a basic knowledge of that language is still a prerequisite for many management jobs in Germany, Switzerland and Austria.
