Hi. I am new to this forum and wanted to know if anyone can give me an idea about the following German business schools - for MBA programmes. I would like to know whether they are good schools, accredited - and not bogus i.e. they are actual schools from which students DO graduate with MBA's.

I'd be grateful for any information you could give me. Thanks.

Germany isn't renowned for the quality of its MBA programmes. Of all the institutions that you have listed, only two come up on the find-mba-database:

If you look at the top ranking European schools (Financial Times Ranking 2007), then the top German schools are:
-ESCP-EAP European School of Management, which comes 4th.
-Mannheim Business School, which ranks 15th.
-University of Cologne, Faculty of Management, which ranks 33rd.

Of all the institutions that you have listed, only two come up on the find-mba-database

I have to say that the institutions you mentioned ar not first choice in Germany. They are Fachhochschulen which will never have a chance to compete in the international MBA market. When you look for a top program in Germany, Mannheim or WHU are the best choices.

Please could you give me some information on Goethe Business School-Frankfurt. This is the first year for their full-time MBA. Any insights on the program and their career services ? Also, how would you rate GISMA, HHL and Goethe ?

I am planning to apply for the 2009 intake (General MBA). Your suggestions would be very helpful. I have three years of work exp in the IT-industry.

HHL and Goethe are both good schools; career service at HHL seemes to be more active.
GISMA also used to be ok but they have some problems now as I've heard (e.g. closing programs several weeks before they should have started or smth like that).

hehe! i m not shouting :) but consultants teln me that there is no MBA for one year full time! although two year can b easily found!!....i have searched one year MBA is also requiring GMAT score! wat is this!!!!!

I wouldn't use consultants. They try to sell you something an get paid by the business schools they recommend.

Is there a particular reason why you haven't considered EBS in Berlin?

EBS is 500 kilometers from Berlin. Its campuses are in and around Weisbaden.

Thanks for the reply. I had already gone through this earlier. Well the minimum criteria is stated there. But at the same time it is mentioned that the class sizes are of 15 only. So that is my concern. The criteria they have mentioned is pretty ordinary. So if the school is good there must be lot of competition.
Now what I want to know is the school good enough or is it easy to get through as there will not be too many applicants applying to this school.
I also did complete the pre-application evaluation form. But they suggested to do try again next year because this year's admission is already closed and they have not yet started evaluating profiles for next year.

Their reply was this
"We are sorry to inform you that may not be admitted to the MBA Program starting this September. The programme is already complete.

We encourage you to apply again next year should you still be interested and have passed a TOEFL or IELTS. Please contact us again early next year in order to receive a new and updated application form.

Once again thank you for applying and good luck with your future endeavors!"
